Fix Videos That Won’t Play on Chrome

If you are having problems with your Google Chrome browser and one of these problems is video playback, the solutions we offer in this article will be useful. You will also be using chrome from scratch.

Enable Javascript

Javascript is a code language and infrastructure for websites. If Javascript is disabled on your trader, this may be the cause of the problem you are experiencing. Check if you have Javascript enabled by using the video below.

  1. Open Chrome on your computer.
  2. Click the three-dot menu icon in the top right, then click Settings.
  3. Click Advanced at the bottom.
  4. Under “Privacy and security”, click Content settings.
    Click on JavaScript.
  5. Turn on Allowed (recommended).

Download or Update FlashPlayer

Adobe Flash Player is a technology that has now been shelved and replaced by html5. Most have stopped using Adobe Flash. However, some websites have not updated their videos, they may still be using Flash Player.

  1. If Flash is used in a video, you will be prompted to download and install Flash Player.
  2. Once done, look at your web address bar and select lock or an I in a circle icon to the left.
  3. You will see a set of arrows to the right of the word “Flash”. Select them, then select Always allow. This only enables Flash for this website; You need to enable it for every website that requires it.

Reset Chrome

You reset Chrome to default settings. To reset:

  1. Open Chrome on your computer.
  2. Click the three-dot menu icon in the top right, then click Settings.
  3. Click Advanced at the bottom.
  4. Under the Reset and clear section, click “Restore settings to their original defaults” and then click Reset Settings.
  5. Finally, don’t forget to close and open Chrome!

Reset Chrome on Android Phone

  1. Go to Settings > Applications on your phone.
  2. Find chrome here and click it.
  3. Click the three dots button at the top of the screen in the options that appear.
  4. Then click Uninstall updates.
  5. Press yes to the prompts on the screen and take a step back.
  6. Go to Save Location or Storage in the options that come up.
  7. Clear the data by clicking the Delete data or Clear data button in the new options.
    Finally, restart the phone and test if the problem is resolved.

Uninstall and reinstall Google Chrome
